Reception was very weak.the radio kind of lightweight. The Sony dream machine was a far superior product.
The nature sounds are decent as background noise. This is an alarm clock that plays music. As long as you don't expect this device to be more than an alarm clock that plays music, it is great. I saw some reviews that expected the speakers to sound like B&W. The features for dimming the display is nice as I do not care for the bright display at night.
It is used to set the time, alarms and control volume. The second had a non-functional volume knob. Amazon exchanged very rapidly but would not exchange again. The first one arrived with a non-functional CD player. I found a Memorex unit with all the same features for $30 dollars less and it works. Which is a real problem as it is what they call a "Smart Knob".
They emailed that the problems were more widespread tham previously thought. I like the idea of an all in one but. I exchanged it. This made the unit pretty much an expensive speaker for my mp3 player.
I cannot recommend this product and have decided to find something new. The reception and sound are much worse. If all you need is a good alarm clock then you should be able to find one for much less money and much the same features. My wife bought this for me a year ago as a present thinking it would have much better reception and sound than our old panasonic stereo clock radio - WRONG. Even the sound of the CD player is terrible.
He loves the nature sounds and they help to block outside noise. We have his lullaby cd in and play it every night while he takes his bottle. Also love the ability to dim the display. We purchased this for our baby's room. It has been great. We think it is great.
